Dr. Judith Joseph MD MBA is a world-renowned psychiatrist, researcher and award-winning content creator who specializes in mental health for children and adults. She conducted the first study in the world on high functioning depression and her study, which is peer-reviewed and published in an academic research journal is the basis of her instant national bestselling book, “High Functioning, Overcome Your Hidden Depression and Reclaim Your Joy”. “High Functioning” was named an Audible to 10 Well-being book of 2025. She was a top 8% shared author on Spotify in 2025. Dr. Judith is a 2026 NAACP Image award nominee for the category of Debut Author. She is one of TikTok’s discovery lists top 50 creators in the world (announced February 2026).

Dr. Judith’s ground-breaking original research was presented at The White House in 2024 to the Executive Office of The President of The United States. Her work has led to her being named a 2024 top NAACP Mental Health Champion, a 2025 CNN Gamechanger and has led to a Congressional Proclamation Award by the US House of Representatives in 2023. Her bestselling book is published in over 20 countries and over 17 languages. The United Nations selected Dr. Judith to teach a workplace mental health course to their employees for World Mental Health Day in 2025, due to the global appeal of her work.

Dr. Judith’s book is the first book to unmask the hidden face of pathological productivity and high functioning depression and uncovers the experiences of many who look fine on the outside, but don’t feel fine on the inside. The book encourages readers to learn five evidence-based tools, the 5 Vs, to break the cycle of high functioning depression and to reclaim joy. Joy is our birthright as human beings and we are built with the DNA for joy, yet many of us forget how to access it. Joyful people are physically healthier, have better relationships and have better careers. They are more likely to give back to their communities. Dr. Judith’s research and her work focuses on how to reclaim joy as a form of resilience in the workplace and outside of the workplace. She has given workplace mental health talks for top companies such as Google, Moodys, Barclays, Bristol Myers Squib and TikTok. Her talks also appear on prestigious platforms such as on Talks at Google and TedX.

In addition to her groundbreaking clinical research in high functioning depression, Dr. Judith is the Principal Investigator at her own research lab, Manhattan Behavioral Medicine, and her lab has conducted over 100 clinical research studies in psychiatry and neurology. She has additional expertise in women’s mental health and is a board member of “Let’s Talk Menopause” a national non-profit that advocates for women’s health initiatives and The Testosterone Project a similar women’s health non-profit advocacy initiative. Dr. Judith is the chair of women in medicine at Columbia University’s Vagelos college of physicians and surgeons and organizes Columbia medical students and physician alumnus to work together on women’s empowerment initiatives. Dr. Judith’s expertise in women’s health led to her becoming an official Masterclass instructor and she taught the first Masterclass series on menopause alongside Halle Berry and other experts in 2024.

Dr. Judith is an assistant professor in psychiatry at NYU Grossman School of Medicine where she has taught doctors in training for over a decade on how to use traditional and social media as a tool to educate the public about health issues. This expertise led to her becoming a part of the 2025 Harvard T. Chan School of Public Health Creators Summit and a YouTube Creator IQ health creator. She is also a part of the World Health Organization’s Fides health creator program. Dr. Judith has over 1.3 million followers across all social media platforms and her evidence-based mental health content receives over 15 million views monthly. She uses her platform to educate about mental health issues and to counter medical misinformation online.
