Biography
Liz Earle MBE is renowned for her lifelong passion for natural health, beauty and wellbeing, alongside her considerable charity and women’s health campaigning. She is the bestselling author of more than 35 books, broadcaster, entrepreneur, and the host of the popular twice-weekly Age Better podcast.
An entrepreneur from the outset, Liz has been behind several successful ventures. In 1995 she co-founded Liz Earle Beauty Co., today owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance; she exited in 2010 and no longer has any connection. She now runs Liz Earle Wellbeing - a longevity lifestyle brand focused on helping women feel energised, informed and inspired to prioritise their wellbeing at every age and stage, and ensure that the second half of life can be the most vibrant, fulfilling and empowered chapter yet.
Liz was awarded an MBE in 2007 for services to business and has received Honorary Doctorates of Laws from both Portsmouth and Staffordshire Universities.
Her books include The Good Gut Guide and The Good Menopause Guide, both number one Amazon bestsellers. Her midlife manifesto, A Better Second Half (2024), became a Sunday Times No. 1 bestseller, setting out evidence-based strategies to dial back the ageing clock, empower midlife women, and help them thrive in the decades ahead. Her latest book, How to Age, (2026), was also an instant Sunday Times No. 1 bestseller, challenging the idea that ageing has to be about decline. Liz highlights this as a ‘pro-ageing revolution’ based on the latest mitochondrial and quantum biology research.
Passionate about research and consumer information, Liz co-founded the Guild of Health Writers in 1994 and FLAG (the Food Labelling Agenda), which campaigned successfully at government level for clearer, more meaningful food labelling. She is an ambassador and advocate for The Soil Association, The Sustainable Food Trust, Love British Food, The Royal Osteoporosis Society, The Menopause Society, International Health Partners, CURE International and Tearfund. In 2010 she founded the UK humanitarian charity LiveTwice, to provide opportunity and support for disadvantaged people both in the UK and overseas.
Liz is divorced, has five children, and divides her time between London and the West Country.
